Arsenal and Tottenham both want Raphinha but the Leeds United winger is allegedly in no rush to sign for either club as things stand.
Raphinha was always bound to attract enormous interest whether Leeds stayed up or suffered relegation.
As it turned out, Leeds stayed in the Premier League with Raphinha scoring on the final day of the season against Brentford.
Sure enough though, teams are now queuing up to try and sign Raphinha after two very impressive seasons with the Whites.
Raphinha has now recorded 17 goals and 11 assists in 66 outings for Leeds whilst capturing the hearts of the Elland Road faithful.
ARSENAL AND TOTTENHAM BOTH WANT RAPHINHA
Links to Barcelona have been swirling for some time now but it’s now Premier League teams making a push for Raphinha.
The Mirror report that Arsenal and Tottenham both want to sign Raphinha but the player himself isn’t all that fussed.
It’s suggested that Raphinha is in no rush to join either North London side because he is still focused on signing for Barcelona instead.
Barca are trying to clear room for Raphinha to join but the longer that saga goes on, the more hope Arsenal and Tottenham gain – even with Leeds demanding £60million.
Raphinha may be open to those moves if the Barcelona door is closed, but until that happens, the Brazilian isn’t desperate to join Arsenal or Spurs.
Tottenham have Champions league football which may be a huge factor for Raphinha should he consider either club.
Just where Raphinha would start for either club is up for debate though.
Raphinha primarily plays on the right flank, cutting in on his left foot.
That’s also Bukayo Saka’s role with Arsenal and Dejan Kulusevski’s role with Tottenham and neither of those players are going anywhere any time soon.
It may well be that Arsenal and Tottenham realise that they need truly outstanding depth all over the pitch to try and chase down Liverpool and Manchester City, with Raphinha fitting the bill – but they’re just not the first choice for the Leeds star.
