Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport have reported that Arsenal’s first bid of £34million for Sassuolo frontman Gianluca Scamacca has been rejected.
However, the report also claims that the Gunners could return with a second offer for the Italian.
Arteta changes transfer plans
Mikel Arteta is set to make a major change to his transfer plans for the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, The Arsenal boss is scaling back on his plans for a major spending spree after initially targeting up to seven new signings. It is believed that he will now focus on three signings for the upcoming season.
Raphinha gives transfer update
Leeds United’s Raphinha has broken the silence on his transfer situation ahead of the summer window, with Chelsea long linked for a move and Arsenal reportedly eyeing the Brazilian as a potential Nicolas Pepe replacement.
Speaking to the press ahead of Brazil’s friendly with Japan on Monday, Raphinha addressed his future at Leeds, but made clear his intention was to do anything to play for Brazil in Qatar.
“If I say that it doesn’t matter, I would be lying,” Raphinha said, as reported by Globo. “Knowing that there are less than six months left for the Cup, you have to be active in the clubs, that weighs on the decision, but I trust my potential.
