Arsenal have been surprisingly been busy in this summer transfer window even though it’s too early as it’s reported that they are currently in talks to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha who was impressive last season. Raphinha has attracted interest from many clubs in Europe such as Barcelona who are also in the market in search of a winger that can bolster their squad.
Arsenal has so far completed two signings but they still have other areas that Mikel Arteta wants to address such as the flank section as the best wingers at the club for now are Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli who might be a bit inexperienced. Nicolas Pepe has never got a consistent run of games in Mikel Arteta’s squad and the manager has lost trust in him this year as he opted to use young wingers over him.
A report by Mundo Deportivo has confirmed that Leeds United have got tired of waiting for Barcelona to make an offer for Raphinha that they are interested in and that the Premier League side is now negotiating with other clubs such as Arsenal that are also after the Brazilian winger. The report also confirms that Arsenal is the most well positioned to sign Raphinha in this summer transfer window since Barcelona are out of the race.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the future in terms of the Raphinha deal and the future of Nicolas Pepe as the Ivorian international will definitely will have to leave the club if this deal goes through as if not, then he would spend a lot of time on the bench.
