Arsenal ‘submit second transfer offer’ ahead of ‘meeting’ as signing successfully completes medical

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta looks to perfect his squad this summer

Arsenal are in the midst of an exciting summer as they continue to strengthen.

The Gunners are preparing for their first season back in Europe following a season away, and they are now making real progress

Arsenal may have made a slow start to the window, but they are catching up and then some, with Gabriel Jesus now set to follow the recent signing of Fabio Vieira.

Mikel Arteta will likely want more changes to his squad, too, with departures and maybe even another signing or two possible between now and the end of the window.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Jesus on the brink

Gabriel Jesus is on the brink of becoming an Arsenal player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian has completed his medical successfully and will become an Arsenal player, with all the papers now signed.

Martinez offer

Arsenal are said to have submitted an offer for Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez.

Martinez has been linked with Manchester United this summer, but it’s the Gunners who are said to have been bold in their pursuit.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal made an opening bid worth £26m and have now gone back with a £34m bid after seeing their initial attempt rejected.

Ajax are said to be considering the offer, but they are under no pressure to sell.

Raphinha efforts

The Gunners are said to be hopeful of reducing the price they will have to pay for Leeds United star Raphinha.

According to Goal Brazil, Arsenal have planned talks with the winger’s agent, Deco, and they hope the talks will convince the player to push for a move.

Raphinha’s camp are said to believe they can convince Leeds to accept an offer of around £50m, despite the Yorkshire club wanting £65m.

This saga is not over, it seems.
