Arsenal are getting plenty of early business done in the summer transfer window this year and with three new signings having already walked through the doors in north London, a few more are still expected to be on their way.
As Gabriel Jesus arrives in London for his medical, the Gunners have submitted a fresh bid for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez. However, Mikel Arteta may have been dealt a huge blow in his pursuit for Leeds United winger Raphinha, while Bernd Leno is seeking an exit.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of the Emirates Stadium…
New Martinez bid submitted
Following reports that Arsenal were preparing to submit a second bid for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, GOAL have now confirmed that the Gunners have tabled a £35 million offer to the Eredivisie champions for the Argentina international.
Mikel Arteta’s side already had their initial bid for Martinez of around £29m immediately rejected by the Dutch outfit last week, but an improved offer has now been submitted in the hope of securing their top centre back signing ahead of Manchester United this summer.
The report also states that Arsenal’s new bid included bonuses, with Ajax now mulling over their decision to accept the improved offer. Martinez is also believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League and is waiting for his club to inform him of their decision.

Gunners suffer Raphinha blow
Arsenal remain firmly in the race to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his forward options, but they may have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit if reports are to be believed.
According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle United have been in talks with officials at the Yorkshire club over a move for the Brazilian, although it remains to be seen whether the Magpies will table an official offer for the 25-year-old.
However, the money-bags Magpies will have no trouble in sourcing the funds to complete a move for Raphinha, who is valued at north of £50m by the Whites, and that could see them move ahead of Arsenal in the standings following Arteta’s spending spree so far this summer.
Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is seeking an exit from the club this summer as he goes in search of regular game time in order to cement his place in Germany’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
And according to German outlet Kicker, via Get Football News Germany, PSV Eindhoven are interested in signing the 30-year-old goalkeeper this summer. The Gunners may choose to accept a bid for Leno, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract, to save losing him for nothing next year.
Leno joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018 and became the no.1 at the Emirates Stadium in his first three seasons. However, he was limited to just eight appearances last season following Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival, while Matt Turner has also just been brought in as the England international’s new back-up.
