The package to sign the talented midfielder currently stands at £30 million upfront with £4 million in performance-based add-ons. Sepulveda also announced that Vieira will sign a five-year deal worth around £110,000 per week provided he agrees to these terms.
Vieira is Arsenal’s third signing this season after goalkeeper Matt Turner and Brazilian winger Marquinhos who joins from Sao Paulo.
Fabio Vieira already adds to the burgeoning list of young, attacking and creative talent at Arsenal FC. He adds to the list of Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, and Emile Smith Rowe among others. So what more does he bring to the Gunners? Let’s find out.
Fabio Vieira’s success
Despite being only 22, Fabio Vieira is not averse to silverware in his career. The midfielder has already won plenty of collective and individual honours in his young career. His accolades include:
- Two Primeira Liga (league) titles
- 2021-22 Portuguese Cup (Taca de Portugal)
- 2018-19 UEFA Youth League winner with FC Porto
- Runner-up in the 2019 UEFA U-19 European Championship
- Runner-up in the 2021 UEFA U-21 European Championship
- Team of the Tournament: 2019 UEFA U-19 and 2021 U-21 European Championships
- Was named Player of the Tournament in the UEFA U-21 Championship
The successes above indicate the title-winning quality that the midfielder brings to Arsenal FC. It is not the case where he has just been there to win it. Vieira has been an integral part of his side’s successes mentioned above.
