After leading almost all game, the Falcons failed to close out Washington in Week 4. A late touchdown pass from quarterback Taylor Heinicke capped off a 12-point fourth-quarter swing to seal Washington’s 34-30 comeback victory over Atlanta.
Fans are rightfully questioning the offense’s decision to run it for three straight plays with over three minutes left and only a two-point lead. Even though the defense didn’t do the team any favors, Arthur Smith had a chance to instill confidence in the players and fanbase. Instead fans are questioning his decision-making and leadership ability.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the Falcons’ latest loss.
#Falcons offensive playcalling has gotten noticeably way too conservative in the final 10 minutes.

That Washington defense hasn’t been able to stop anything all day. The punter is hurt and Arthur Smith still goes with the three most conservative play calls.

This team deserves to lose after that 2nd and 13 run. Trying to run clock WHEN YOU'RE UP BY 2 AND HAVE NO PUNTER

Falcons might want to think about running someone other than Mike Davis when it needs big yards.

Just hasn't produced enough yet this season in big spots. Not saying it won't come, but so far, not great. #Falcons

Ya never like when things come down to the #Falcons defense…
