There seems to be trouble between fighters Ali Abdelaziz is managing. The Dominance MMA founder manages several big names in the MMA industry. Last time, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev were beefing with Justin Gaethje to get Makhachev the lightweight title fight. This time, it is Gilbert Burns who seems to be beefing with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
Abdelaziz manages Usman too. Hence, he did not like it when Burns was rooting for Charles Oliveira to defeat Gaethje. While Usman and Abdelaziz may have not liked it, Burns was hoping his fellow Brazilian fighter successfully defend his title.
Speaking about Oliveira, Gilbert Burns said, “Yeah, we became friends. … I kind of call him mom back in the days when I was a 55, but we always respected each other, always.”

“I always like Charles Oliveira a lot but then he was fighting Nik Lentz, teammate of mine. Jared Gordon, teammate of mine. Michael Chandler, teammate of mine. And I’m not gonna lie. So whenever my teammates are fighting, I’m helping these guys, I’m cheering for this guy.”
“And I thought whenever the fight was done, he against Dustin and he against Justin Gaethje, I’ll say ‘bro, now I don’t have no teammates. Let’s go.”
Burns further spoke about the difficult circumstances Oliveira went through at UFC 274. He said, “Me as a Brazilian, as a guy that cheered for him, I was just giving all the support. … as an unrespectful way, Kamaru was by my side with Ali. They were so mad because they wanted Justin to win. But I don’t even see it, I just lost my mind…”
Burns further spoke about the difficulties Oliveira faced in the favelas in Brazil. ‘Durinho’ further had a lot of good things to say about Oliveira.

Burns said he is inspired by how Oliveira still helps people back in Brazil. Thus, he is trying to support ‘Do Bronx’ in the selfless work he is doing.
Needless to say, Burns is a big Oliveira supporter. Hence, it would be interesting to see them interact often or fight on the same card. What do you think?
