Hail Mary! Saints get a huge touchdown on desperate heave to end first half

It’s always fun to see a Hail Mary land, even if it’s at the end of the first half. 

New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston had his prayers answered before halftime on Sunday. With the Saints tied 13-13, the Washington Football Team had to punt from its own end zone with 19 seconds left. After a short punt return to the Washington 49, the Saints had one play before the half expired. 

Winston heaved one deep, and Marquez Callaway got a surprisingly easy run to the end zone. Thanks to poor defense from WFT, the Saints got a gift touchdown going into the half when Callaway came down with the catch.

It’s not like a quarterback can ever expect to complete a Hail Mary pass, but he can dream. The Saints got a happy gift right before the half.
