Veteran actress Joan Collins is accusing the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family of having an “awful lot of surgery” amid their return to TV. Collins blasted the Kar-Jenners despite being friends with the family matriarch Kris Jenner. She went on a rant against television stars going under the knife and decided to call out one of her old co-stars. It turns out the Kardashian-Jenner family got caught in the crossfire.
Since gaining fame through the success of their 20-season reality show, the Kar-Jenners have been accused of having plastic surgery many times. Kim Kardashian came under fire during the show’s first and only reunion show after being asked if the family promotes unattainable beauty standards. The SKIMS founder claimed her family works hard for their bodies and hits the gym to maintain their figures. But many viewers felt Kim wasn’t being honest, as this was the family’s chance to acknowledge any cosmetic enhancements they might’ve had to enhance their features. Khloé Kardashian was the only family member who admitted to having a nose job, and Kylie Jenner has already owned up to the lip fillers she gets done. But other than that, there haven’t been many comments from the family on their drastically different looks over the course of the show.
Leave it up to a veteran in Hollywood to call out the Kar-Jenners for their long history of rumored plastic surgery. The Dynasty star recently slammed her old co-star, Linda Evans, in her new book, My Unapologetic Diaries, as captured by Daily Mail. “Are you supposed to ignore somebody when they come in with tape on their eyelid?” Collins wrote of Evans’ alleged plastic surgery during their TV reign in the 80s. “Am I the only one who thinks there’s an obesity crisis? Those lips people have done, I think they look ludicrous,” she continued in reference to current trends in cosmetic surgery. “I’m sorry. And if people want to go round looking like that I’m going to laugh at it.”
Collins then took aim at the Kardashian family and their long-rumored use of plastic surgery. “We all talk about it. Have you ever been in a hairdresser’s? The Kardashians, for instance,” Collins said. “Kris Jenner, their mother, is a good friend of mine and I don’t want to be rude about her children, but there’s an awful lot of surgery there and I’ve talked to my friends about it, as I’m sure you have, the bottoms, the tiny waists.” The claim is one that has been attached to the Kar-Jenners for years. Earlier this year, Khloé came under fire for a leaked photo scandal where she was caught trying to remove an unedited photo from the internet. After owning up to the scandal by showing an “unfiltered” collage of her body, actress Jameela Jamil blasted Khloé and said she should also admit to the “surgeries” that she has had done.
But the family has become immune to criticism and is busy filming their new show set to air on Hulu. Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney Kardashian were recently spotted filming scenes in Malibu. As the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alums prepare for their return to TV, they’re already getting free press by the likes of Joan Collins. With their latest TV venture, the family could open themselves up in new ways. Maybe they might start addressing all the talk surrounding their constantly evolving glow-up. Kim and the gang could also share some of their beauty secrets so fans can take notes. But as more youths attempt to go after the Kardashian look, critics will continue to blast the family for influencing unrealistic beauty standards, whether they admit to it or not.
