Reports have previously claimed Antonio Conte has given the green light for Tottenham to make a move for the Frenchman. But Spurs are not alone in the running.
Sport reports that Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton have all asked about the 26-year-old.
And it seems that they may not need to sign him permanently to get him through the door. Barcelona had wanted a fee of £12.8 million (€15 million) for Lenglet. However, his £164,000-a-week wages is, understandably, too high for several of his admirers.
And with that, Barcelona are now open to loaning him out. Lenglet meanwhile, is also coming round to the idea of leaving the Nou Camp this summer.
Arsenal ask about Lenglet
A loan move is likely to appeal to plenty of clubs. Lenglet has been a decent performer during his time at Barcelona, making 160 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Didier Deschamps described the France international as ‘world-class‘. And Sport suggests that there would not necessarily need to be an option to buy included in the loan.
Tottenham certainly need a left-sided centre-back this summer. And Arsenal probably need more depth on that side as well as they prepare to return to Europe.
But clubs such as Newcastle and Everton will certainly take note of his availability. Previous reports suggested that the Magpies were crazy about Lenglet.
Toffees fans may have their concerns about signing another player from Barcelona. But it seems that it could be a potential bargain if the clubs can negotiate a good split with the wages.
