Arsenal have had no interest in Nicolas Pepe during the summer transfer window despite their attempts to move him on.
The Daily Mail claim that the 27-year-old has yet to attract any interest during a summer when Mikel Arteta wants rid of him.
That is so he can move onto different transfer targets, balancing the books during another summer of investment at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have had no interest in Pepe
Arsenal look to be ramping up their interest in the Leeds United wideman all the time with Arteta keen to add more threat to his frontline.
It was reported last month that Arsenal want Pepe sold so they can fund their new contract offer to Bukayo Saka.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with an interest in Pepe, with West Ham also linked in late April.
But the latest seems to be that nothing is imminent with Pepe, despite him being on the market and Arsenal open to a quick sale.
Pepe remains Arsenal’s record signing, a hugely expensive mistake from the Unai Emery era that they are still trying to rectify.
It would be better for all parties if he could find a suitable move away but it is not hugely surprising that there is little interest in Pepe given how his stock has fallen since he has been in north London.
Arsenal have tried to be ruthless with their outgoing transfers under Arteta, but they have not often got huge fees for their unwanted players, and it remains to be seen how the Pepe situation plays out.
