The ten highest-rated A-League stars on EA Sports FIFA 22

THEY’RE the stars with the FIFA 22 stats to match their respective reputations as some of the finest players gracing the A-League for the 2021/22 campaign.

The latest instalment of EA Sports’ FIFA franchise sees Melbourne City striker Jamie Maclaren and Western United’s Alessandro Diamanti top the list as the highest-rated A-League player on FIFA 22™, with an overall rating of 76.

Jamie Maclaren – Melbourne City

Overall rating: 76

Melbourne City sharpshooter Jamie Maclaren is the equal-highest rated A-League player on FIFA 22 after an explosive 2020/21 campaign.

Maclaren helped City to the Premiership/Championship double last season, winning the league’s Golden Boot for the second time running with an impressive haul of 25 goals. Maclaren ended the season with 11 more goals on the board than Macarthur FC’s Matt Derbyshire, who finished second on the Golden Boot standings with 14.Maclaren Melbourne City

Alessandro Diamanti

Overall rating: 76

Western United’s Italian maestro returns for his third A-League campaign with a FIFA 22 rating of 76. 

The 38-year-old notched a league-high nine assists throughout 2020/21, in an overall disappointing season for the Green and Black which resulted in a tenth-placed finish on the table.

Diamanti scored seven goals in his maiden A-League campaign but just managed one last season. It’s a statistic Western United’s star man will undoubtedly look to improve upon in 2021/22.Alessandro Diamanti

Ulises Dávila – Macarthur FC

Overall rating: 75

Ulises Dávila heads toward the 2021/22 A-League season with a FIFA 22 rating of 75 and a new set of team colours to represent after his off-season move from Wellington Phoenix to Macarthur FC. 

Dávila scored seven goals and assisted seven more last season for the ‘Nix, taking his goal tally to 19 across two fantastic campaigns for Ufuk Talay’s side. Bruno Fornaroli – Perth Glory

Overall rating: 74

Perth Glory’s Uruguayan striker Bruno Fornaroli comes into the new A-League campaign with an overall rating of 74 on FIFA 22.

Fornaroli has long been one of the league’s prime forwards, sitting seventh on the all-time list of A-League top scorers with 74 strikes to his name. Preparing for his third season in Purple, Fornaroli will be eager to add to the 26 goals he’s struck for Perth, with 13 coming from each of his first two seasons out west. Bruno Fornaroli

Miloš Ninković

Overall rating: 74

Sydney FC star Miloš Ninković joins Fornaroli on an overall FIFA 22 rating of 74 heading into the 2021/22 A-League season.

Ninkovič won his second Johnny Warren Medal in 2020/21, an honour shared with Dávila, becoming just the second player in A-league history to win the award twice alongside Brisbane Roar’s Thomas Broich.

Ninković scored four goals, assisted four more and created 32 chances this season in 26 games (W13, D8, L5) last season.Milos Ninkovic

Javi López – Adelaide United

Overall rating: 74

Adelaide United signed accomplished Spanish defender Javi López for the 2020/21 A-League season, and the former RCD Espanyol captain impressed Reds fans from the get-go. 

López brings an overall FIFA 22 rating of 74 into the 2021/22 A-League season after assisting two goals, making 94 ball recoveries and engaging in 29 tackles and 149 duels in 14 A-League appearances to date. Javi López

Craig Goodwin – Adelaide United

Overall rating: 73

Adelaide United talisman Goodwin earns an overall rating of 73 for FIFA 22 after registering eight goals and five assists in 18 appearances for Adelaide last season.

Goodwin returned to the Reds in 2020/21 – and his impact was felt instantly. The 29-year-old notched a goal or assist in each of his first five appearances of the season, helping guide the Reds to the Finals Series before an ankle injury robbed the dynamic forward of the chance to feature in his side’s loss to Brisbane in the post-season.Craig Goodwin

Chris Ikonomidis – Melbourne Victory

Overall rating: 72

Chris Ikonomidis arrives at Melbourne Victory with an overall FIFA 22 rating of 72, reuniting with former head coach Tony Popovic for another A-League campaign.

Ikonomidis excelled under Popovic in 2018/19 at Perth Glory, earning a call-up to Graham Arnold’s Socceroos squad in the process. The 26-year-old will look to continue his development under Popovic who now oversees Victory, joining along with Ikonomidis in the off-season after the club finished bottom of the A-League table for the first time in 2020/21.Chris Ikonomidis

Rhyan Grant

Overall rating: 72

Star Sky Blues full-back Rhyan Grant’s overall rating of 72 makes him the second-highest rated A-League defender on FIFA 22 behind Adelaide’s López.

Grant engaged in 230 duels throughout 2020/21, making 46 tackles and 139 ball recoveries to go with one goal and assist in 23 appearances for the Sky Blues. 

The right-back will return to Sydney high on confidence after scoring his first international goal for the Socceroos against Vietnam on September 7.Rhyan Grant

Mathew Leckie – Melbourne City

Overall rating: 71

Socceroos striker Mathew Leckie’s off-season move to Melbourne City will strike fear into the hearts of defenders around the league, as he joins fellow Australian internationals Andrew Nabbout and Maclaren in the Champions’ frightening attacking unit.

Leckie receives an overall FIFA 22 rating of 71 heading into his first A-League campaign.
