Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Debuts New Autobots and Decepticons

Director Steven Caple Jr. and actor Anthony Ramos have shared a look at the new Autobots and Decepticons that will be featured in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Ramos shared two photos of Caple posing with various vehicles on Twitter with the caption, “The squad is out. #transformers” The first photo displays Caple standing in an open field surrounded by five Autobots in their car and motorcycle forms. Most notable is the red truck of Optimus Prime, along with Bumblebee as a yellow dune buggy, Arcee (motorcycle) and Mirage (silver two-door car). The second photo features two massive trucks and a dark sleek sports car.

Fans got a look at Optimus Prime’s modified G1 design in a September set video. The short video showed Optimus cruising down a dark Brooklyn/New York street with its headlights on. Ron Perlman has been tapped to voice Beast War’s Optimus Primal, leader of the Maximals, in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Peter Cullen will return to voice Optimus Prime.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a progression in the Transformers timeline, taking place after Bumblebee but before the Michael Bay films. Rise of the Beasts will also take place in 1994 New York City. Other confirmed characters include Nightbird, Airazor and Rhinox. Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah) joins Anthony Ramos in the cast.

Directed by Steven Caple Jr., Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is scheduled for a June 2022 release.
