Matt Turner is yet to be officially unveiled as an Arsenal player but he has already impressed supporters by refusing to sign a Tottenham Hotspur kit.

“But she’ll be over there, I’ll get out there and then do my medical and get ready for a new season to start.” The 27-year-old went around the Revolution’s stadium signing autographs for fans after his last game for the club but he was seen ignoring a supporter holding a Spurs jersey in front of him, something that Arsenal fans will love to see.

Turner has also spoken about the conversations he has had with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, claiming that his experience will be useful to the north Londoners’ young squad. “We’ve talked a little bit,” he told Sky Sports when asked if he has spoken to the Spaniard.
“His main message for me was just to focus on what I need to focus on right now, getting through these next few months, staying healthy, staying fit and getting ready for pre-season and compete. The project they have going on there, [I want to be] an important part of the locker room, adding some experience – not a ton of Premier League experience – but national team experience, league experience and playing games in pressured environments. I’ll be an older head in the locker room, being 28.”
