WWE Explains Aliyah’s Absence From SmackDown This Week

Aliyah was scheduled to wrestle Shotzi for the Women’s Money in the Bank qualifier tonight on SmackDown, but WWE made a last-minute change to the lineup for the June 24th episode of the blue brand.

WWE took Aliyah out of the match and replaced her with Tamina. Pat McAfee explained during Tamina versus Shotzi match that Aliyah was hurt and couldn’t compete in her match.

Shotzi would eventually pick up the win in her match against Tamina. The NXT alumna joins Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriquez in the Women’s MITB Ladder Match on July 2nd.

WWE have yet to decide on the final participant for the match. The 13th annual Money in the Bank premium live event takes place Allegiant Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, July 2nd.
